On-Site Sewage Facility (OSSF)

Construction of a new on-site sewage facility (OSSF) or repair to or expansion/extension of an existing OSSF requires an on-site sewage facility permit. Electrical construction work in conjunction with OSSF construction requires separate permit.

An OSSF is only permitted on a property that is greater distance than 300 feet from the nearest City of Krum sanitary sewer service.

The design, operation and maintenance of an OSSF must be in accordance with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations. In most cases, an OSSF must be designed by Registered Sanitarian or Professional Engineer. Certain types of OSSF systems require public affidavits and/or maintenance contracts.
