Certificate Of Occupancy (Temporary)

A certificate of occupancy certifies a building's compliance with applicable building codes and other laws, and is required to occupy or use any single-family, two-family, multifamily, or nonresidential building.

Upon request by submittal of a temporary certificate of occupancy agreement application, the City may issue a temporary certificate of occupancy for the partial occupancy or use of a building still under construction. All building, fire, and other life-safety improvements must be completed and inspected prior to issuance of temporary certificate of occupancy. A temporary certificate of occupancy is valid for a period up to thirty days from the date of its issuance.
