Solid Waste and Recycling Services


The City of Krum has again contracted with Progressive Waste dba Waste Connections for weekly solid waste and recycling services including bulky waste collection.  Solid waste and recycling is picked up each Wednesday.  Please make sure no loose items are outside of the bag or can.  Place all trash and recyclable items out no later than 7:00 a.m. on Wednesdays for pick up.  

Recycling Service Details

 All recycling materials should be placed into your provided blue 65 gallon recycle cart.  

Accepted recyclable items are as follows:

  • Paper
  • Cardboard
  • Magazines
  • Newspapers
  • Books
  • Mail
  • PET #1 Plastics (water bottles and soda bottles)
  • HDPE #2 Plastics (laundry soap jugs)
  • Aluminum Cans
  • Steel Cans

Please do not recycle:  Glass, food waste, plastic bags, styrofoam packaging, packing peanuts, wood, grass clippings, hazardous materials including electronics, batteries, paint or chemicals, window or plate glass and large metal objects (small engines, lawnmower blades, etc).

Bulk Waste & Bundled Brush

As a regular service, Progressive Waste dba Waste Connections will provide weekly curbside bulky waste and bundled brush collection services to the residents of Krum.

Brush Guidelines:  Vines and thorny bushes must be placed into disposable containers.  Garbage or brush that cannot be placed into disposable or permanent containers must be cut into 4 foot lengths, tied/bundled, and not to exceed 50 lbs.

Bulky Item Guidelines:  Acceptable bulky items are as follows:  Mattresses, furniture, stoves, water heaters, fence panels (cut in half), and any other appliances or other similar items.  UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS are as follows:  Tires, hazardous waste, liquids (including paint), chemicals, fertilizer, propane tanks, bricks, concrete, rocks, dirt and non-containerized or loose debris.
